IMAXINARIA international animation film festival that takes place in the city of A Coruña, promoted by Afundación

Aftermovie 2025

A project that seeks to promote and publicise less commercial audiovisual animation to to the general public, and also to function as a meeting point forprofessionals in the sector, where Galicia has a long and renowned tradition of innovation. The festival is directed by Matilde Rodríguez, curator of the Mostra Internacional de Ilustración Contemporánea (MiiC), and the film director Alberto Vázquez, a refernce in current animation, winner of numerous national and international awards.

All screenings and activities will take place at Afundación headquarters [Cantón Grande, 8 – A Coruña]

The festival program consists of an Official Section featuring a total of  38 short films in competition (12 Spanish premieres, 13 Galician premieres, and 1 European premiere), and a Parallel Program made up of various thematic sections, talks, feature films, retrospectives, and more.

Imaxinaria features the participation of leadingfigures from the world of animation

They actively participate in the festival through Q&As, masterclasses or as part of the jurado professional jury , sharing their knowledge and experience in the industry.

Culture for Food

Imaxinaria is part of the ‘Culture for Food’ programme, an initiative of Afundación in favour of FESBAL. The price of the ticket will be donated in full to the local Food Bank.
