RADAR GALICIA
The Galicia Focus highlights the present and future of Galician animation, showcasing, on the one hand, emerging talent —both local and from across the region— and, on the other, the work of already established professionals who are positioning Galicia as one of the most dynamic and innovative territories for animation at both national and international levels.
In this edition, the focus is structured around two complementary proposals: on the one hand, the Young Talent Competition, aimed at new generations of students and opening its call this year to the entire Galician territory; and on the other, the screening of Decorado by Alberto Vázquez, one of the most anticipated and celebrated Galician animated feature films of the season.
YOUNG TALENT COMPETITION
A call aimed at students over 18 years of age who are currently studying in the fields of art, audiovisual studies or animation, as well as graduates from these disciplines in 2025. The educational institution must be located in Galicia. In 2026, the competition opens its call to the entire Galician territory.
The initiative seeks to encourage creation, support new generations and give visibility to emerging talent within a professional exhibition context.

Decorado is an animated feature film that combines satire, surrealism and dark humour to immerse us in a disturbing and absurd reality. The film follows Arnold, a middle-aged mouse trapped in an existential crisis. His everyday life —his partner, his job, his city— begins to feel like a huge farce, as if everything were part of a perfectly constructed set. When his best friend dies under suspicious circumstances, Arnold embarks on a desperate escape in search of something resembling freedom.
With this film, Alberto Vázquez —creator of Psiconautas and Unicorn Wars— delivers a powerful fable about social control, the artificiality of life and the fragility of our certainties. With a striking visual style and a narrative that is both provocative and poetic, Decorado stands out as one of the most important Galician and Spanish works in contemporary animation.
Since its premiere, Decorado has established itself as one of the most outstanding animated films of the recent landscape, supported by its presence at major awards and festivals. At the 58th Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (2025) it was nominated for Best Film and Best Animated Feature Film. It also won the Forqué Award 2025 for Best Animated Feature Film and received a nomination for Best Comedy at the Feroz Awards 2026, confirming its impact both critically and within the industry. A journey of recognition that has only just begun and is expected to continue adding new awards throughout 2026.
