PAMELA POLTRONIERI

Pamela Poltronieri was born in Rovigo, Italy, in 1979. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Bologna and later specialized in 2D animation at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Turin, Italy.

In 2009, she began her career in the Cartoon Network Italy department in London, where she contributed to the creation of television sketches for the channel. At the same time, she worked as a freelance animator for studios such as La Testuggine, Movimenti Production, and Enanimation SRL in her home country.
She lived in Manchester and worked on the preschool television series Daisy & Ollie for CHF Entertainment. She also worked for the BBC on the animated series Doctor Who: The Underwater Menace and Dad’s Army: The Animations, as well as on the feature film Charlotte by directors Eric Warin and Tahir Rana, collaborating with Yowza! Animation and Walking The Dog studios.

Since 2014, she has been living in A Coruña, where she has worked as an animator on Alberto Vázquez’s award-winning short films Decorado (Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film) and Homeless Home, as well as on his animated feature films Psiconautas, los niños olvidados and Unicorn Wars, in which she served as animation supervisor. Both films received the Goya Award for Best Animated Feature.

In 2023, her work as animation director on Martín Romero’s short film To Bird or Not to Bird stood out. The film won the Goya Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2024 and achieved over 150 festival selections, both nationally and internationally, winning more than 30 awards.

She is currently working as the animation director on Decorado, Alberto Vázquez’s latest film, set to be released later this year.
